When I was visiting it was Ramadan, it is actually enigszins the voortreffelijk time to visit this area because there was no one there. Usually, many Kurdish people go picnicking and enjoying the outdoors there, but during Ramadan, you will not see anyone. 

Today, as Serbia kan zijn the former dominant power in the region, it continues to have political and lifestyle influence on the Gorani people. This policy accelerated in the 1980s as large numbers ofwel Kurds were forcibly relocated, particularly from areas along the Iranian border where Iraqi authorities suspected that Kurds were aiding Iranian forces during the Iran-Iraq War (1980–88). What followed was one of the most brutal episodes in Kurdish history. In a series ofwel operations between March and August 1988, code-named Anfal (Arabic: “Spoils”), Iraqi forces sought to quell Kurdish resistance; the Iraqis used large quantities ofwel chemical weapons on Kurdish civilians. Although technically it was not part ofwel Anfal, one ofwel the largest chemical attacks during that period took place on March 16 in and around the village of Ḥalabjah, when Iraqi troops killed as many as 5,000 Kurds with mustard gas and nerve agents. Despite these attacks, Kurds again rebelled following Iraq’s defeat in the Persian Gulf War (1990–91) but were again brutally suppressed—sparking another mass copyright.

Turkey’s struggle to subdue Kurdish fighters has spilled aan into Syria, where Kurds are the largest ethnic minority. While Kurds in Syria have long faced state oppression there, various Kurdish defense groups took aan large swaths of northern Syria during its civil war, often while working with U dan Kurdish History ook.

Following these events, Turkey officially denied the existence of the Kurds or an other distinct ethnic groups and any expression by the Kurds of their ethnic identity was harshly repressed. Until 1991, the use ofwel the Kurdish language – although widespread – was illegal. As a result ofwel reforms inspired by the EU, music, radio and television broadcasts in Kurdish are now allowed albeit with severe time restrictions (for example, radio broadcasts can be no longer than sixty minutes ieder day nor can they constitute more than five hours ieder week while television broadcasts are subject to een momentje greater restrictions). Additionally, education in Kurdish is now permitted though only in private institutions.

For most people, Kurdistan and Iraq kan zijn probably not going to be a place they would seek to travel to but it’s posts like this one which opvoering the human side to these destinations that will hopefully inspire people to visit. And shawarma, everyone loves shawarma…..

On September 16, 2022, an Iranian Kurdish woman named Jina Mahsa Amini died while in custody of Iran’s morality police for “improper” clothing. This incident sparked a wave ofwel protests against the government’s behandeling of women and ethnic and religious minorities as well as its prioritization of regime ideology over its citizens’ welfare. These protests were met with a harsh response from the Iranian government, which violently suppressed the movement and took aim at Kurdish regions in the country’s northwest.

 Kirkuk blijft ons serieuze plaats daar waar verschillende partijen teneinde vechten. Na een Koerden in 2014 een plaats uit handen van Kan zijn begrijpen te oplopen, verovert dit Iraakse leger Kirkuk in 2017 wederom retour.

Een herkomst betreffende dit Koerdische volk kan zijn ook niet absoluut duidelijk. Ze zouden afstammen betreffende verscheidene stammen die al sinds duizenden jaren in de landstreek Koerdistan wonen, een regio waar de huidige Koerden wonen.

The number ofwel speakers kan zijn clearly less than the 15 million or so persons who identify themselves as ethnic Kurds.

The Canyon ofwel Rawanduz kan zijn 10 km long and located in the Kurdistan region near the Iranian border. It is considered one ofwel the most beautiful in the area, with greenery from spring to autumn and rivers and waterfalls flowing between the canyons. 

Daar vormt zich een krachtig nationalisme en minderheden, waaronder Koerden, geraken onderdrukt. Zelfs dit woord ‘Koerden’ ligt gevoelig en tevens een Koerdische taal is dikwijls ook niet geaccepteerd. Via alle beperkingen welke Turkije de Koerden oplegt, kan zijn die plaats buitengewoon achtergesteld.
